CALL: Research Assistant Position

The ERC Consolidator project AIMODELS (GA 101088645), coordinated by Prof. Matteo Pasquinelli at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, is seeking applications for a research assistant (1-year, renewable).

The interdisciplinary project investigates the combined history of contemporary AI models and models of intelligence. It pursues three main objectives: writing a new history of connectionism and deep learning; developing a comparative epistemology of AI; evaluating the impact of the large AI models on knowledge production, education, and cultural heritage. The project engages with the disciplines of digital humanities, history of science and technology, psychology of learning and development, semiotics, philosophy of mind, translation studies, and literary studies.
Prospective candidates are expected to hold a master’s degree or PhD in the humanities (philosophy, history, cultural studies, or related disciplines). The research fellowship amounts to 24.320 Euros per year, including taxes and social charges.
