Dear colleagues,

We would like to remind you of our call for papers for the Special Topic "Participatory Technology Assessment and the Framing Challenge" in the Journal for Theory and Practice of Technology Assessment (TATuP).

This special topic addresses the challenge of how the framing of technological issues shapes and potentially limits participatory processes. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and methodological contributions from scholars in STS, Technology Assessment, political science, sociology, and related fields that address framing challenges and advance reflexive practices in societal engagement with science and technology.

Please read the complete call here: https://www.tatup.de/index.php/tatup/announcement/view/66

Key dates:

  • Abstract submission deadline: 19 January 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: 20 February 2026
  • Full paper submission: End of April 2026
  • Publication: December 2026 (issue 35/3)

Please submit your abstract (max. 1.5 pages) to reda...@tatup.de.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Anja Bauer and Mahmud Farooque
