Dear Colleagues,

MetaScientia: Journal of the History and Philosophy of Science invites submissions for its thematic issue, “Philosophy of Biology: Organization, Agency, and Organismality in Living Systems,.

The issue welcomes contributions on organization, agency, autonomy, organismality, biological individuality, Evo-Devo, biosemiotics, teleology, biological function, and related topics. We also welcome broader studies in the philosophy, history, and sociology of science, particularly those engaging with biology, living systems, or the life sciences.

Final submission deadline: 30 November 2026
Expected publication: December 2026
Languages: English.
No APCs or submission fees; double-blind peer review.
