FOUNDATIONS AND METHODS OF MORAL ANALYSIS IN EDUCATION SEMINAR SERIES
Sally will present her paper:
Evaluating the Integrity of Conceptual Engineering (CE) Projects in Education
There are ongoing debates about how to define and prioritize the implementation problem in CE spaces. Generally, formulations of this problem focus on achieving uptake of the revised concept and say little about evaluating the integrity of the project itself.
However, there is an increasing need, especially in U.S. higher education, to address the implementation problem in this second way. This paper presents a possible framework for evaluating the integrity of conceptual engineering projects in educational spaces,
based on several questions, such as: Should we base evaluation on the perceived intent of those leading the project? The process by which revised concepts are instantiated? The reasonably assumed outcomes of the revised concept? Where do we locate harm in
conceptual engineering projects gone wrong?
The seminar will be held online on Tuesday 5th May 4pm-5.30pm UK time.
All welcome.
Please also save the date for our next seminar with Jane Gatley (Swansea University) Wednesday 20th May 4pm-5.30pm on ‘Can Concepts be Ideal?'
