Dear Colleagues:

Based on Travis' conversation with Dr. Long, I think we should go with the Turkey/Israel scenario for our Crisis Sim. It was a close tie between Pakistan having nukes and the Turkey/Israel scenario but Dr. Long broke it down for us in terms of what would work best for the simulation. Please feel free to take a look at the email below regarding Dr. Long's rationale.

I hope you will all support this decision! By the way, thanks again to those who made it to our meeting on Thursday: Travis, Alina, Keenan, Alan, Tori and Rasha. Your input and suggestions helped quite a bit.

I will be sending out a sample packet in the coming days. I will also send out a google doc where you can sign up to take on a country/actor packet and/or an additional role that has come up (treasurer, event planner etc.).  Also, please note that two people should work on a packet (it'll help with the workload and research). If we find that we don't have enough people I suggest you drag a fellow isper who is not currently on the committee for the ride :)

Good luck on your exams!

Emmania

Hey,

I spoke with Austin - he thought both ideas (Pak and Is/Turkey) were good.

He thought Is/Turkey was better because it could be resolved through negotiations and tactical diplomatic decisions.  Also, the regional dynamics involved would create a more fluid, exciting simulation.

Pakistan on the other hand, may result less in negotiations and more in military action which is not the idea of the simulation.

The decision is now up to you and your committee.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck,

~T

Hello Travis:

I hope that you are doing well. I just wanted to ask you a quick question and to see if you would be able to assist me with this. I am getting the committee together so we can make a decision on a crisis sim topic. I was wondering if we could use room 1302 from 1 to 2pm this Thursday or possibly another room on that floor? I'd like to send an email with the location by this Tuesday. Most of the committee has said they are available at that time to meet.

I appreciate your help!

Best,

Emmania
