Part-time PeaceMover Facilitator (Washington, D.C.)

 

Joining the Move This World team as a PeaceMover means:

 

  • The ability to be trained on and implement a high-impact, innovative curriculum that is already defining the future of movement-based empathy education
  • A fun, talented team that empowers you and values your feedback in helping shape our curriculum, our evaluations, and the organization
  • Stipend commensurate with experience plus training

Responsibilities for Part-time PeaceMover Facilitators in Washington, D.C.

  • Participate in a two-day training on Move This World curriculum and implementation on June 29th & 30th
  • Implement and evaluate weekly Move This World sessions (at least a 20hr/week commitment)
  • Active preparation for each session, including the review and understanding of curriculum before implementation
  • Compile, maintain and report program evaluation information on a weekly basis to assess strengths and areas for improvement
  • Active communication with school contacts including principals and classroom teachers throughout the semester.
  • Active communication with MTW Programs staff

Qualifications:

  • Teaching Artist, Education, child or youth development background
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience facilitating trainings and workshops and implementing activities to large groups
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • >1 year of classroom management experience
  • Comfort leading youth and adults in active, movement based activities as well as in depth discussions
  • Inclusive, participatory approach to teaching and learning
  • Desire to work on issues related to under-served communities and a critical consciousness around those issues
  • Understanding of and personal connection to MTW mission
  • Passion and energy to dedicate to making a change in the community and having fun while doing so!
