Dear Colleagues:

I just had a meeting with last year's crisis sim leader and she has shed some light on what and how we should do things. So....we need to meet next Thursday. probably between 1pm and 2pm to vote on a crisis scenario. I am thinking no one needs to write anything, you just need to do a little bit of research so that you can pitch your respective scenario at the meeting (this would include the 5 goals, 5 constraints and a little bit of background) and then we can agree on one.

After that, we will delegate a country actor to one or two people (depending on how many people we have total). Please keep in mind that we also need 7 to 8 actors involved in the conflict (I mean countries when I say actors). We need these many just in case we have a large group participating. Then over break we can work on our respective actor packet. I'm going to send you guys a sample packet after next week's meeting so you know what to include in it. We will need to have this ready by the first day of classes, January 17, 2012 (it's a chill day, so it should be alright!)

Lastly, the room for the SIM has been booked for February 5th, 2012.

I apologize for the sudden change and hope this works for you. Please let me know if you will be attending next week's meeting.
If there are concerns or questions please feel free to email me,

Best,

Emmania

Emannia - when you say "5 goals, 5 constraints and a little bit of background," what do you mean?  (I figure I know what the background part means, but I'm not sure on the goals and constraints!)

Thanks and see you later today -

I think constraint means like whether they don't have certain capabilities should things escalate and the goals would be things they want to achieve during that specific crisis. I'm assuming this as I've never done a crisis sim. I pray I'm not leading you in the wrong direction! See you later!
