Just started using iSoul after years of using SoulSeek on Windows.
Everything went fine at first, then I ran into some probems. The
program kept force quitting on me as soon as I opened it. After
deleting and re-downloading I was able to open and connect to
SoulSeek, other users, chatrooms, etc. but for some reason I can't
download ANY files. Tried connecting to multiple users with 0 queued
uploads and I get a "remotely queued" status. It stays that way
indefinitely(several hours at least, I have yet to download anything.
Any pointers? I'm new to OS X so it might be something simple that I'm
not doing.

The remotely queued problem may be related to the ports of your router (or maybe firewall?) that are closed. Try to port forward them is the first step to have a working connection to the soulseek network

It's not my firewall so I'm going to attempt port forwarding with Port
Map - http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/27342/port-map
Has anyone else used this program to port forward? Is there something
else you'd recommend?

That utility uses uPnP (or nat pmp) to map the necessary ports, the same thing iSoul does. So if iSoul is unable to map the ports this tool won't be able to either (it actually uses the exact same framework).

You can use this web tool to check if the ports are correctly mapped when iSoul is running (or if you do things manually): http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

To map the ports manually, follow the guide for your specific router model here:
(navigate to manufacturer > device > "Default Guide" for this router)

THIS!^
THANK YOU!
Had to manually config my IP address, getting the right DNS addresses
was tough but once that was done the port forwarding steps were a
breeze. Thanks!
