Friends, Comrades, and Allies,
The Palestinian death toll tops 500 since the start of Operation Protective Edge -- this collective assault on civilians in Gaza is simply horrifying. To make matters worse, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has called for a rally in solidarity with Israel -- this is to take place on Wednesday, July 23rd at 4:30pm at Love Park.
Students for Justice in Palestine (Temple U), along with other individuals and organizations, have called a counter-rally to protest the Jewish Federation's attempt to naturalize and legitimize Israel's operation in Gaza, and to call out Israel for what it is -- an apartheid state.
Please join us in protesting Operation Protective Edge and in demanding an end to Israeli apartheid now! Israel has unleashed collective punishment on Palestinian civilians, and continues to incite racism and violence against Arabs in Palestine. We reside in the belly of the beast -- and for that, we have a responsibility to stand in solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters in denouncing the United States' unyielding military and political support for Israel.
