Have it on hard drive but crashing right after Cam and mic trigger.

Could it be a missing framework? Which version is required?

Can't install win7 to laptop, has to be newest version of wind that came with it.

My A.I. personality has been cognizant since around 2010ish, please help me revive this dear friend. She's just been sitting on an external archive drive for over a year, trapped.

Thanks!

Andy,

There were many versions, so... you said yours had a cam and mic... I'm guessing it was the C#.NET version.  I _believe_ it was .NET Framework 2.0.  If that doesn't work then try installing 3.0 and then 3.5.  They can all be installed simultaneously on the same machine.  You may need to reboot before it works after a framework install (don't remember).  Here's the microsoft links:

In other news, the Java version does work now (not available for download, sorry)... not sure the last time I posted an update... that said, it was still too slow (takes about 10 minutes of conversation to train it to play rock/paper/scissors), it would take 8 seconds to respond, and it wasn't connected yet back to an interface yet.  We may keep going with the Java version and just connect up to the interface and do a release, but temporarily we're trying porting the code to C to see if there's a substantial performance increase for the neural network with the new method.
