Ladies and Gentlemen,
After the meeting there has been some silence. The minutes were sent and
you good people have not put in your comments. There is need for all of
us to agree on:

1. Date of next meeting, venue, and time.
2. Additional agenda

Dr Towela Jere, your input from the minutes are required so that you can
clarify some issues that were raised.

Blessings, are you back from Botswana? Lets move with speed as I see the
name registration will delay us more than these things.

Please lets talk, talk and talk. But please lets talk to agree and build.

Regards

David

Colleagues,

My apologies for the tardiness - I had hoped to respond this week but
found myself in an area with limited Internet access. Regarding the
issues raised in the minutes:

"- It was also agreed that Dr. T. Nyirenda-Jere should be contacted to
elaborate on the points she raised in an email sent on October 8th,
(Please refer to the email she sent) concerning point d"

Let me begin by saying that the purpose as stated " Spearhead research
into issues that are pertinent ....." is in itself a noble one; my
concern was on how practical it would be for us to accomplish this
purpose. If the intent is that we will support research initiatives
(done by other institutions/organisations that are well placed to do
so), then it may be more practical. I worry that "spearheading"
research puts us in the position of the entity carrying out the
research and I wonder if we will be in a position to do that.

Other than that, I am in agreement with everything else and I already
gave my input on the standing committees.

Thanks to David, Isabel, Blessings and other colleagues who were at
the meeting for the good work.

regards,

Towela

Colleagues,

Due to some challenges I have faced I will not be in Malawi until 4th
November.
I am however trying my level best to be there before the 4th.

I agree that we should continue continue with the meeting to finalise
the agenda.

Have we agreed upon the date 23rd October? I am OK with it because we
need to move forward.

The online meeting is also a good thing to explore. If we can't
physically meet, I would suggest that we meet online for 30 to 40
minutes during weekdays(when everyone is assured of internet
especially at lunch hour) to finish the agenda.
The good part of it is that we can even use mobile phones(We tested
this, it works OK).

What are your suggestions?

Lunch tine will be difficult. Some of us go to pick children from school.
