Colleagues,

ISOC has just announced their call for applications to the Next
Generation Leaders Program. I took part last year and found it to be
worth the effort. See the link for more details: http://www.isoc.org/leaders/elearning.php

On another note, have we totally stagnated with the Malawi chapter?

regards,

Towela

Indeed this has stalled. We need a meeting to rejuvenate this. When should we meet.
Suggestions please

I am comfortable wherever the meeting takes place(LL or BT), I am suggesting College of Medicine, BT, where the last one took place.  May Mr Chima help us in contacting College of Medicine(Mr Muyepa, I guess).

More suggestions are welcome.

I suggest the following as agenda for the meeting :

1. Adoption of minutes from the last meeting
2. Election of office bearers
3. Registration status of the chapter
4. Action plan of the chapter
5. Funding of the chapter
6. AOB

Please suggest if there is anything I have omitted or is not supposed
to be there.

Thanks and regards

I agree with Blessings' suggestion for the agenda. I however won't make it to the meeting because I am a little bit busy at work. My absence will almost bring everything to a halt.

I wish you a nice time and please email the minutes from the meeting.

ISOC Members
It is sad to mention that the meeting did not take place last Saturday because of turn up.
We were only the two of us. Myself and Blessings. We have however suggested that we do an
on-line meeting where all the members can participate. We will have to agree if this is a
workable solution. For the other things that need personal presence, we can entrust to a
few individuals to do the works for us. However it would be good to meet in person as well.

Suggestions are welcome from all member on the way forward. Lets contribute. Please
remember that no one is leading. We are all leading and there is no one following. So feel
free to contribute for the betterment of ISOC Malawi

I agree with the online meeting as it seems that most of us are busy
and perhaps geographically far apart.

The meeting if done online will be as valid as if done physically.
Please let us second or provide alternative views.
The following are issues that need the meeting(an urgent one perhaps):

1. The registration of the chapter with the registrar general requires
the following:
a. That we have minutes where resolution of members to have the chapter
b. That we have office bearers

2. We develop an action plan of chapter which we have to
follow(otherwise the chapter is dead)

3. That we clearly find ways and means of funding the chapter(of
course based on point 2 above)

These are some of the issues that require deliberation. We need to
meet atleast on-line.

Just as a side note, Wisely Phiri also turned up for the last meeting.

Kind regards,
Blessings.

I second the idea of an online meeting. I was supposed to have attended the last meeting but failed due to work constraints.

The online meeting would definitely make it easier for more of us to attend regardless of location and I'm sure most of us could set aside a little bit of time if planned properly.

You can definitely count my vote in favor of an online meeting.
