Hi Team

We are working with a farmer's collective. We are thinking of setting up a small community wireless broadband.

I am wondering if there is any small grant available either from the local chapter or the Internet Society that we can utilize to buy the hardware. We would also like to consult with the Chapter on the technical design. We are finalizing the use cases and would share them with the group.

Hi Anupam

There is no progress and we would be interested to discuss this. 

I am sharing the requirement for developing an additional internet access point for the village Tiangia, GP: Katingia, Block: G. Udayagiri, Kandhamal, Odisha. The possible nearest access point is near the Church (https://goo.gl/maps/YitAKNJZ6PZVP6W96) in Laburi, which is getting the internet from a Jio tower. Jio has started constructing an additional tower in Laburi village, but no such plan yet for the village Tiangia. 
The distance would be about 2 – 2.6 km.  The coordinates for St. Michael Church, Tiangia (receiving end): https://goo.gl/maps/rD4DoqE2eg7wHFTe9
 
There are about 100 families, i.e. 400 people in Tiangia village. The BSNL calls are working, but there is no internet. Mountains on all sides block the area.
