Virtual Meeting: APNIC invitation and intra-chapter interaction - with a difference

I am excited to inform that the Chapter will conduct a virtual meet - with a difference - on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 4:00 pm to:
1) Discuss an invitation received from APNIC to attend its Survey Meeting
2) Select a team of six Chapter members to attend this Survey Meeting
3) Discuss ISOC related issues and get to know members from other ISOC Chapters in the region.
The APNIC Survey Meeting is scheduled to be held at The Oberoi Grand on Saturday, 24 March 2012. Mr. Sunny Chendi and Prof. Peng will represent APNIC and host the meeting. In addition to chapter members, a select group of non-members from the IT industry and apex industry organizations have been invited. The agenda for the meeting is to get key stakeholders to interact with APNIC representatives in preparation for its Member and Stakeholder Survey 2012.
During our virtual meet tomorrow, we will select six Chapter members to represent ISOC India Kolkata Chapter at the APNIC Survey Meeting.
Also, ISOC Chapter members from Nepal (Mr. Shreedeep Rayamajhi and Mr. Ganesh Paudel) and Pakistan (Mr. Naveed ul Haq) will join us online to interact with us and share experiences. Mr. Duangthip Chomprang from Thailand from has confirmed his attendance as ISOC appointed observer.
Friends, this is perhaps our first intra-chapter virtual meet attended by members from other ISOC chapters. I am excited by the possibilities that such interactions can present and would urge everyone to join us tomorrow to welcome and befriend fellow ISOC members from other Chapters.
