Dear members of the ISOC Ukraine chapter formation group,
Despite the best efforts of all individuals involved in the Internet Society Ukraine chapter formation, we came to the conclusion that considering the current situation and environment the Internet Society will not be in a position to continue the process of Chapter formation for Ukraine.
The formation of a Chapter is meant to be a positive process that is supported by the local community. Considering the various views within the Ukrainian community it has become clear to us that currently there is no agreement amongst the various parties. We therefore decided to pause the process until consensus is found and the community can collaborate and come together to apply as a group.
As you all know we are very keen on supporting the Internet community in Ukraine in any way possible and having a Chapter in place would be an obvious and desired way of doing that, so we really hope that we will soon see a consolidated approach to form a Chapter.
We are obviously available to support the application process and can provide the necessary tools to do so. (eg. Survey tool to survey the members, providing a webex session for conference calls, etc).
I trust you understand our position, and remain available for any questions or comments.
Kind regards
Joyce
