Hi Qianqian,
just want to say thanks first for a great freeware tool.

I am trying to use iso2mesh to generate meshes from CT data for the freeware solver FEbio (http://mrl.sci.utah.edu/software/febio) via PreView. The volume to mesh option without having to generate surfaces is a really attractive prospect. I have managed to generate volume meshes this way using

[node,elem,face]=v2m(CTdata,[],2,5,'cgalmesh');

It works. But after exporting the mesh in Abaqus (.inp) format using Wang & Mignone's script, the result is a bit messy and causing problems in PreView (as well as Abaqus). Bit of a rooky question but how can I expand the above to the form "vol2mesh(img,ix,iy,iz,opt,maxvol,dofix,method,isovalues)" so i can use the "dofix" option.

I feel that this is not a problem "dofix" can fix. Instead,
it was a file exporting issue. It is likely you have included
the last columns of node/elem/face arrays. The last column
is the label column, and not part of the mesh topology.

Tried it several times but cannot get it to work. Think I must be specifying things in the wrong order. Do you have any worked examples with the 'cgalmesh' method?

see

sample/demo_cgalmesher.m

Also, once I have the volume mesh what output options are there? PreView will import

NIKE3D
HyperMesh ASCII
ABAQUS
GMsh

there is an abaqus exporter in the SVN:

many thanks
