Good afternoon.

A couple of updates for you today:

Tomorrow, Saturday 20 November, is a gathering hosted by a newly-created coalition of individuals and organizations, Pittsburghers for Public Transit, to rally to protest Port Authority's proposed cuts in transit service.  Thirty-five percent of bus service is going to be slashed next March, rates are going to go up in January, and hundreds of employees are going to be laid off.  Join up tomorrow in Mellon Square Park at 2:00 p.m.

Join us again the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday 24 November, at 9:00 a.m. at 346 6th Avenue (outside the Port Authority building).  This is where the vote will be taking place, and PPT is planning a counter-demonstration.

On Tuesday 23 November at 7:30 p.m., come out to ISO Pittsburgh's regular meeting place in Dining Room A of the William Pitt Union Building for a special presentation and discussion on The Politics of Food.  Member Russell Pryor will be discussing the sad state of our agro-industrial food complex, and how we can work to remake the system.

In the meantime, follow us on our blog at http://isopittsburgh.blogspot.com, and interact with us on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/International-Socialist-Organization-Pittsburgh/118442808213249.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!  In solidarity,

Adam on behalf of the Pittsburgh ISO
