Hello Colleagues:

As a courtesy to ISNR Listserv members these guidelines are periodically posted on the listserv.  Please note highlighted areas.

Guidelines for ISNR Listserv:

The ISNR Listserv (ISNRL) is a moderated e-mail list. When a member sends an e-mail to SNR_Memb...@yahoogroups.com  for distribution to members, an ISNRL staff moderator reviews it and has the option to accept or discard it.

Periodically, ISNR will post an announcement about the ISNRL and its guidelines.

Allowed

1) Questions regarding symptoms, disorders, treatment conditions and the use of NFB.

2) Replies that address symptoms, disorders, treatment conditions and the use of NFB.

3) General health related concerns.

4) Sharing of scientific articles of interest, health related websites.

5) Questions or comments about equipment, technical issues, or the use of NFB to enhance performance, relaxation, or well-being

6) Sharing of personal publications i.e., journal article, newly published book, etc. (ONE TIME ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY).

7) Attachments of articles, publications, and diagrams related to the brain, neuroscience, NFB, treatment.

8) Referrals

9) Job Postings

10) International conferences that are not Vendor driven/organized and that would serve the interests of members and specifically International members.

NOT ALLOWED

1) Inflammatory or unprofessional messages, including direct insults, attacks, or confrontation between ISNRL members or other professions not on the ISNRL.

2) Negative posts about other persons.

3) Comments reflecting politics or political figures that are of a negative or derogatory nature.

4) Messages concerning subscriptions to the list.

5) Messages that are intended for an individual subscriber and are not of interest, or do not pertain to, the whole list.

6) Messages that are not related to brain, brain function, health, neuroscience, neurofeedback, and assessment and/or treatment.

7) Requests for contacts from people seeking a job; however, the list does accept employment postings

8) Automatic replies, i.e., out of office replies.

9) Listserv members are NOT permitted to post messages on behalf of another ISNR or Listserv Member.

Subject Line

As a courtesy to other subscribers, always fill in the Subject line when you post a message to the ISNRL.

Please change the subject line if you are starting a new thread.  Replies and responses to the wrong subject/topic may not be posted or addressed.

Credentials

State Your Credentials: Please use a signature on ALL posts and replies to other’s posts; (i.e., John Smith, LCSW or Jane Doe, Licensed Clinical Psychologist), especially if you are recommending clinical applications, health related suggestions or comments.  This gives your comment more clinical weight than not knowing your credentials and skills, (i.e., remarking about treating seizures and you are a not a medical doctor).

Clinical Responses

Members posting responses to assessment, diagnostic, treatment inquires, etc., must cite their credentials regarding recommendations.  Submitted posts by respondents not listing credentials in responses, and/or persons responding to medical, psychiatric, or psychological inquiries without the appropriate listed credentials may be rejected.

Vendor Training, Workshop, and Webinar Announcements

ISNR Members on the Listserv may post announcements for trainings, workshops, webinars, etc. on the ISNR Listserv.

ISNR Vendors are permitted to post advertising once per month. The post must include the statement: “Proud supporter of ISNR” at the top of the advertising post.

Posting Policy

Only ISNRL subscribers may post to the ISNRL. The list software attempts to match the address in the "From" field of a message against the register of subscribed addresses. The list software rejects messages from non-subscribed addresses. This filter protects list members from junk mail.

How to Post

Existing list subscribers can post a message to all ISNRL members by e-mailing it to:

ISNR Members Forum (isnr_memb...@googlegroups.com )

Attachments Policy

Subscribers should only attach scientific articles or papers of interest.

Thank you
Those are almost the same rules I have for my facebook account. Yes, you have to screen every entry to make sure it fits with your mission statement. Facebook accounts that are not screened can get pretty ugly, so thanks for the watchful eye.
