Dear ISNR Members,
This new scam is
VERY convincing. A new scam is going out, mostly to our members outside of the United States of America. The details vary, but the gist is the scammer states that one of the international society's president is on his/her way to attend his/her
sister's funeral and encountered problems at the airport. They even give phone numbers to call to help them. They reference ISNR's president as well. They will offer to put an "airport official" on the phone, or someone else to make it sound legitimate.
They prey on good people.
THIS IS FRAUD - A TOTAL SCAM. Please do not click "unsubscribe"
as it verifies your email address is real. Instead, "block" the sender.
Since we are a membership organization, scammers find it easy to
reach out posing as someone else within our organization, usually the ISNR President or similar.
Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid these scammers. If you see
an email you question, please forward it to me and I can verify if it is actually relevant to ISNR or another scam.
Please be reassured that ISNR does not sell or distribute our membership
list to anyone. Furthermore, we do not ask our members for money, ever, with the exception of the CPT initiative. If you do not know who the individual is personally that is sending the email, do not click on any links or respond to the email.
With the upcoming ISNR conference, expect more spam. If you receive
an email, a WhatsApp message, or other means of communications such as what is said below, please send it to junk and block the sender as it is not valid :
We have the attendee list for ISNR Conference.
The list contains 2,298 pre-registered attendees with email addresses,
contact numbers, and more in an Excel format.
If you're interested,
I can send you the discounted cost and additional
details.
Each Record of the Attendee Includes: The list includes First Name, Last Name, Title, Email, Company, Contact Number, Website, Mailing address
etc. in an Excel sheet.
Each Contact will come with permission-based information and with verification stamp (Both Email& Contact number authenticated)
ISNR does
NOT release conference registrant lists of those who have opted out. Those individuals who have opted in on conference communications ONLY go to the conference vendors. The claims above are erroneous.
Again, if you run into any questionable emails, please feel free
to reach out to me and I will verify the validity of the request. You may also call me at (703) 848-1994.
Thank you for your patience with these irritating scammer issues
which keep plaguing us all.
