Hi everyone,

I have updated the packaging work I started a while back. I used the source tarball
corresponding to the latest tagged* version (v1.2.0).

It builds the following binary package:
libismrmrd1.2  -- shared lib
libismrmrd-dev  -- headers, symlinks, cmake modules
libismrmrd-doc  -- doxygen documentation
ismrmrd-tools  -- executables generated from utilities/
ismrmrd-schema  -- xml schema file

The only changes in installation paths concern:
the documentation:
from /usr/share/doc/ismrmrd
to /usr/share/ismrmrd/doc

the cmake module:
from /usr/share/ismrmrd/cmake
to /usr/lib/cmake/ismrmrd

The packaging stuff is maintained on the Debian-science team git server, and accessible here:
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-science/packages/nfft.git

FYI, nothing has been submitted yet. These packages are of Debian standards quality and
worthy of submission.

I am planning to also push these packages on the Ubuntu PPAs I set up some time ago:
https://launchpad.net/~ghisvail/+archive/ubuntu/ismrmrd-stable

Feel free to leave comments or questions.

Cheers,
- Ghis

One question is if we should consider having cmake generate all the debian specific files:

That would make it easy to update the debian source package when releasing a new version. We could maybe do away with cpacks debian package generation??

I have uploaded the source package to my personal PPA here:

https://launchpad.net/~ghisvail/+archive/ubuntu/ismrmrd

Builds are available for both LTS releases of Ubuntu (12.04 and 14.04)
for 32 and 64-bit architectures.

Don't hesitate to test and report any errors.

Hi Ghislain,

Does your package include a converter from Philips raw data to ismrmrd?

Hi Yishi,

No, this package only include the binaries built from the ismrmrd project.

On a side note, even if such converter existed, it could not be distributed that way due to licensing issues.

Hi Ghislain,

Is it possible that the converter could be shared?

Hi Yishi,

First of, there is no official converter of any kind, as far as I know.

Even if such converter existed, it could not be shared publicly without the explicit approval of Philips. Period.

Thridly, I know for a fact that GPI [1], which is due for a release soon, will have raw data readers and converters built-in. Besides, they are a Philips' sponsored project. I have no idea by which channel they intend to release the software and with which kind of licensing, but there is definitely work on-going on that.

Based solely on these 3 points, and as far as I am concerned, I don't think it is worth to start working on yet another converter.
