ON behalf of Laurie Arp, Director of the DuraSpace Community Supported Programs at Lyrasis, and the program team at Fedora please see the following announcement:

Greetings,

LYRASIS, the Organizational Home for Fedora, is excited to announce that Dan Field will be joining the Fedora program as a Developer.

Dan will join the program in a part-time capacity by helping to manage the day-to-day maintenance and ongoing development of the software while working alongside the current core community committer team to provide support and assistance to our community of users. His thoughts and perspectives will be especially valuable as we continue to support migrations to Fedora 6.x and think to the future.

Dan has spent 19 years working in the Cultural Heritage sector in the field of Software Engineering.  His previous positions include Head of Software Development at the National Library of Wales and Cyberspace Communications Specialist with the Royal Air Force.  As someone who has worked with Fedora for 15 years, Dan has a clear understanding of the technical stack but also a strong commitment to digital preservation, open-source software, and the Fedora community.

Dan will officially join the Fedora team January 3rd.

Please join us in welcoming Dan Field to his new role in LYRASIS and the Fedora community!

Best wishes,

Laurie Gemmill Arp
