Earlier we announced that 2025 Virtual Fedora Showcase will be returning and is taking place online in November. Today we are excited to open the call for presentation ideas to begin building our stellar program. The Virtual Showcase, now in it’s 3rd year, is a virtual event that brings together Fedora community members from around the world to discuss their work, share lessons learned, collaborate, and meet new users.

The best part about this event is that it is FREE to all participants!  We hope you’ll use this opportunity to bring friends and colleagues along to learn more about Fedora, the software and our community.

WE NEED YOU – Submit your presentation idea today!

Sharing your work is what keeps the Fedora community strong and connected. Even if you think your work is routine or not unique, it has value. User stories, lessons learned, and even everyday workflows are all vital to our collective knowledge. This is a great opportunity to connect with others—so please consider submitting a presentation idea today.

Submit your presentation proposal using the following form: https://forms.gle/FrWPrmsPC17kNsSj6
Proposals will be accepted until October 31, 2024.

Presentation ideas can include, but are not limited to the following suggestions:

  • Interesting or unique Fedora implementations
  • Infrastructure show-and-tell
  • How your institution handled recent upgrades or tweaks within your system to solve a problem
  • The good, the bad and the ugly – sharing work that didn’t go so well and what you learned from it
  • Migration stories (Doesn’t have to be Fedora 6 migration stories!)
  • Upcoming work and how you are preparing for it
  • Cool new collections you are working on
  • General Fedora updates from your institution

So get your thinking caps on and mark your calendars! We will have a great event in store for you and are looking forward to seeing everyone all together again! Details will be available on the event wiki space as they become available: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/FF/2025+Virtual+Fedora+Showcase

Looking forward to seeing you all in November!

Cheers,

Arran
