Hi folks,

I just did a test upgrade from a base Islandora Drupal 10.2.2 installationto the latest current Drupal 10.2.4 During the composer drupal upgrade I go this note:
Package technosophos/libris is abandoned, you should avoid using it. No replacement was suggested.
Package academicpuma/citeproc-php is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use seboettg/citeproc-php instead.

Also, in the list of available updates the following modules show upgraded versions are available:

Name Site version Recommended version
Citation Select 1.0.0-beta3         1.0.0-beta5 (Release notes)
Flysystem 2.1.0-rc6 2.2.0-alpha1 (Release notes)
Twig Tweak 3.2.1 3.3.0 (Release notes)

I am leaning towards ignoring the three updates but I am more concerned with the technosophos/libris and  academicpuma/citeproc-php packages. How much does Islandora use these modules ? Did the Drupal upgrade cause any loss of functionality ?

Thanks

Both citeproc-php and libris are used by the bibcite Drupal module. It looks like their newest version already uses the replacement citeproc-php library. They still use LibRIS, but if you are concerned, I suggest bringing it up on their issue queue (https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/bibcite?categories=All).

Hi Seth,

For the Citation Select module, we have an PR from one of our co-op students worked to remove the bibcite module as dependency https://github.com/digitalutsc/citation_select/pull/23. We are testing the PR and then soon merge, It's going to a major release in Drupal.org. We'll update you on this.

Regards,

Kyle.
