Exciting news from Discovery Garden and Born-Digital

Fellow Islandorans,
We’re writing to let you know that Discovery Garden and Born-Digital have decided to merge operations. The paperwork has been completed, and this merger is effective as of September 5, 2025. The result is that Born-Digital will operate as an American subsidiary of Discovery Garden. We will continue to offer both Enterprise and Cloud solutions. With regards to the Islandora Foundation, our joint intent is to continue with all of the commitments both companies have recently made to implement Islandora’s Strategic Plan in the coming year.
Our staff will be working to integrate our technical and services functions over coming weeks and months. Our clients have already been informed of this news, and we wanted to let the larger community know about this exciting next step. We will be sending out a public press release next week and updating our websites to reflect the organizational changes. We are also coordinating with Aubrey to find a time for community discussion, perhaps as part of an upcoming open meeting.
This merger unites decades of collective service and expertise, positioning us to better support and sustain the Islandora community and the Foundation as we move forward together.
