Hello Islandora Community,

Our Technical Advisory Group has recently shared with the Leadership Group a plan to assist in the backlog of stale issues on GitHub via automations. Their recommendations are as follows:

Use Cases

  • Use cases were useful for building the initial version but have out-lived their usefulness in the issue queues. We recommend closing them.

Bugs

  • Mark as “stale” after 3 months. Close if no further activity in 2 weeks.

Feature Requests

  • Mark as “stale” after 12 months. Close if no further activity in 2 weeks.

Pull Requests

  • Mark as “stale” after 3 months. Close if no further activity in 2 weeks.

You will receive notification if any of your contributions are marked as stale, and this will also push it to the top of the list for review in tech calls, ensuring there are several opportunities for review before closure. They can also always be reopened as needed.

We also encourage anyone submitting issues to then attend the first tech call after contribution to help provide context and ensure that it is addressed properly.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! All the best,
Aubrey Shanahan
