Fedora Sustainability Working Group
|
|
|
In May, members of Fedora Governance established the Fedora Sustainability Working Group as a focused effort to develop actionable plans to improve the long-term financial sustainability
of the Program. The Working Group is focused on pathways to growing and stabilizing revenue and engagement across 3 themes:
-
Business Outreach & Engagement
-
Grants & Funding Development
-
Membership & Governance
Deliverables include focused investigations into each area and draft recommendations to be put forward to Fedora Governance for prioritization. More details about the Working
Group can be found on the Fedora
wiki.

Fedora Launches the Ecosystem Partner Program
Fedora's community ecosystem includes more than the institutions who use it. It also includes the service providers who implement, host, support and implement Fedora for their
clients. We're pleased to announce the launch of the Fedora Ecosystem Partner Program: a new way for those organizations to formally invest in Fedora's long-term sustainability and be recognized within the community for their role. The Program offers
Partners a way to contribute annually at one of three levels — Supporting ($2,000), Sustaining ($5,000) or Strategic ($10,000+) — and in return, they receive valuable benefits for their organization.
We know that a well-funded Fedora means stability, security and an effectively managed program. Now, the organizations that implement Fedora for their clients, have a pathway
that allows them a meaningful stake in keeping it maintained, developed and thriving. If your organization works with Fedora clients, or if you know of a service provider who does, we'd love to share more. To learn about the program, reach out to Program Manager,
Arran Griffith, at arran.g...@lyrasis.org or
download our Ecosystem Partner Program Prospectus below.

EU/UK Tech Meeting
Join us on the
2nd Tuesday of each month at 13:00 UTC for the EU/UK Tech Meeting. Not JUST for Fedora users from the EU or UK, this monthly meeting serves to supplement the regular weekly Tech Meeting in a time zone more friendly to those outside of North America.
Anyone is welcome to join. All meeting notes and details on how to participate can be
found
on the wiki here.
Our next meeting is scheduled for:
Tuesday, July 14th @ 13:00 UTC. See you there!
PHAIDRA Community
The PHAIDRA Community is a growing community with a home base at the University of Vienna. PHAIDRA is a full, open-source solution that is based on Fedora 6. It extends Fedora's
core functionality with an integrated stack of tools, libraries, and APIs, with the goal of making digital management more accessible for non-technical users while giving developers flexible building blocks for more complex projects.
The PHAIDRA Community is a lively and growing community of users from institutions across Europe and further abroad. They regularly host community calls, and have a community
Discourse which can be found here.
Fun Fact
All of the iPres conference proceedings are held in a
PHAIDRA
repository hosted at the University of Vienna.
Therefore, all iPres conference proceedings are being preserved in a Fedora-based repository 🤩
