Hello. I'm looking to connect with any institutions that use Islandora for collections that contain digitized a/v materials. I'm currently exploring options for a DAMS/CMS for a collection of about 4,000 analog film and video that are in the process of being digitized. Happy to give further details. Thanks - Mia

We don't have a lot of digitized video, but you can see what we do have @ http://special.library.unlv.edu/search?f%5B0%5D=resource_type%3AMoving%20Image.

P.S. Yes, our thumbnails are small, I'm working on that. We haven't spent much time on making the video stuff pretty in this system.

We have 2 small collections at the moment: one film, and a combination audio and video oral history collection:

We, too, have been concentrating on getting a representative sample of holdings up (and working!) rather than focusing on overall aesthetics.

Hi Mia. We have a decent amount of digitized film and video: https://digital.hagley.org. We're currently using Islandora 7 and will migrate out in about a year. When it comes to a/v material, Islandora is used exclusively for discovery and access. The preservation masters, especially for film, are too big (in cost) to stuff into Islandora. We store those locally and generate access copies locally to ingest into Islandora. It's worked out well though we're not currently supporting things like captioning, abr streaming, etc. If you have questions feel free to send them to mde...@hagley.org.
