Hi Everyone,
I trust you all had a lovely weekend. Today we are excited to share more news about Fedora Camp 2026, taking place this September at the University of Vienna.
Call for presentation proposals is now open!
Share your work and ideas to help bring meaningful content to this event. We're looking for
presentations, workshops, and lightning talks that showcase the flexibility and diversity of our global community of users.
Presentation Ideas:
-
Implementation Show & Tell – Walk us through your collection, explore what technology you are
using, and how you’ve built your system to meet your needs.
-
Migration Stories – Share your Fedora migration successes, planning processes, and any lessons
learned along the way.
-
Unique Use Cases – Are you using Fedora in an unexpected or innovative way? Share your use
case as a model for what others can do.
-
Preservation Workflows – How does Fedora fit into your digital preservation strategy?
-
Optimizing OCFL – As a foundational element of modern Fedora, OCFL offers many benefits for
long-term preservation. How are you handling OCFL objects and why is this important to your institution?
-
Intro to Your Repository – Take us on a guided tour of your institution's repository or digital
collection. Maybe it doesn’t seem exciting to you, but there is much to be learned by others who want to see what is possible.
NEW THIS YEAR - Submit a workshop idea!
We would love to learn from you! Workshops will provide attendees an opportunity to participate in a hands-on session, gaining valuable experience with digital repository technologies or workflows.
Workshop Ideas:
-
Data modelling - How do you make data model decisions? What does that mean for your repository structure?
-
Fedora integrations - What technology are you using with Fedora and how did you put it all together?
-
Building workflows - What workflows have you built to support preservation best practices?
-
Working with the UI
- Do you use the Fedora HTML UI for specific tasks? Teach others what you are doing.
These are just some ideas. We would love to hear what other skills and tools you can share with attendees through workshop teaching.
If you would like to submit more than one proposal, please complete separate submission forms for each proposal.
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026
Stay tuned for more information about registration coming soon! Looking forward to seeing you all in Vienna in September!
Cheers,
Arran
