I am sure you all heard that Drupal 7 is getting 1 more year of extended support https://www.drupal.org/psa-2020-06-24. Drupal developer decided to support version 7 for one more year. At the same time, I realized Drupal 8 is end of support in 2021. I know Islandora 8 is based on Drupal 8 and now this version will be EOL before Drupal 7. Has anyone experiment with running Islandora 8 with Drupal 9?
Thanks
Kun
As of current Islandora isn't compatible with Drupal 9. Drupal 9
is a feature-less release which is handling removing a slew of
things marked as deprecated in Drupal 8. Islandora (and its
submodules) would need to be audited / updated to stop using the
deprecated functions. I've had a peak at what would entail and
it's not a large amount of work. However, all of the contributed
modules Islandora relies upon must also be D9 compatible for
Islandora to truly "support" Drupal 9.
