Has anyone integrated the IIIF Presentation API with Islandora 7? I know it's been added to Islandora 8, but we're not planning on migrating anytime soon.
If yes - can you share implementation instructions/advice?

Hi Stephanie,

you can check this https://github.com/giancarlobi/islandora_iiif/tree/7.x-dev-presentation

It's a working development of IIIF Presentation API 2.1 with Islandora 7.x.

A sample manifest: http://www.byterfly.eu/islandora_iiif/libria:100178/manifest

Best

Giancarlo

I Second Giancarlo (that happens quite a lot!).

That module provides IIIF manifests for single objects and collections and uses Solr. Giancarlo has done some extra good work there and i also like the speed. We have even done some quite cool cross-paralell-universe-experiments with the module, with Islandora 7 serving already ingested data via IIIF and our current Repository Architecture that uses and displays IIIF natively reading and exposing it, even mixing images/manifests and data from both!  Allows, e.g, to migrate without moving while you plan on a full transatlantic-data-migration to greener fields in a more timely manner.

Cheers

Diego

Hi Stephanie,

Older and likely less elegant than Giancarlo's work, but here is some work from the University of Toronto Libraries from way back in 2015/2016 when we started integrating IIIF with Islandora 7:
^it has evolved since 2016, but our Github account is sadly in need of updates and clean up. Happy to pass on any questions you might have to devs and systems folks who may be able to offer more advice and documentation on our current infrastructure. Diagram on how IIIF fits in our Islandora 7 architecture in "Figure 1" here: https://journal.code4lib.org/articles/15000

Take care,
Kelli
