Biannual IslandoraCon: 2025 Call for participation

Hello, Islandora Community,


We are excited to announce a return to Biannual IslandoraCons!


To prepare for a 2025 IslandoraCon we are seeking a host institution and volunteers for the planning committee. 


Host institution should be able to support:

  • 50-100 in-person participants

    • Main Session Room

    • Parking

    • Bathrooms 

    • Wayfinding 

    • Close to hotel accommodations and airport (within 30 miles)

    • Tech at minimum computer with display, microphone for speaker and audience, wifi, basic IT support

  • 2-3 breakout rooms, with min. tech listed above.

  • Attendees over 3-5 days on institution campus location 

  • Facilitate external food and beverage or internal food and beverage at a reasonable/discount price 


If you are able to meet these minimum requirements and are interested in being our 2025 host institution please let us know via the hosting interest form. Preference will be given to host institutions that can facilitate hybrid participation. 


Planning Committee Volunteers should be able to support:

  • Finalizing date

  • Selecting hosting arrangements for the conference

  • Putting out a call for session proposals

  • Evaluating the proposals to create schedule

  • Developing a conference program

  • Working with Host Institution for logistics and local arrangements (catering, IT support, hotel blocks)

  • Publicizing the conference

  • Contributing to its successful implementation
