Hello Islandora,
The September Open Meeting will take place next week, Tuesday, September 26, between 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The Islandora Coordinating Committee organizes these meetings, which are held the last Tuesday of the month.
Register for a calendar and Zoom invitation here! A link to the agenda can be found here.
We will start with Foundation Updates, Committee Recruitment and an Open Q&A before moving into a Preservation Coffee Talk at 1 pm ET.
What is a Coffee Talk? An Open Meeting Coffee Talk is a space for Islandora community members to share thoughts and experiences and ask questions about a particular topic. It is much less formal than a presentation or panel discussion as we look to community members to share their experiences/ideas/questions first.
What is a Preservation Coffee Talk? We would like to hear from you about how Islandora fits into your digital preservation practices and workflows, or might so do in the future! According to the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), digital preservation "combines policies, strategies and actions to ensure access to reformatted and born digital content regardless of the challenges of media failure and technological change. The goal of digital preservation is the accurate rendering of authenticated content over time." Click here for specific examples of digital preservation strategies and actions.
Topics to discuss could include:
We look forward to hearing from you!
