With the announcement of the further extension of support for Drupal 7 to November 30, 2023, the Islandora Foundation wishes to clarify end-of-life for Islandora Legacy (Islandora 7).

The Islandora Foundation’s efforts are directed almost entirely to Islandora 2.0 activities, and thus does not expect to organize any further full releases for the Islandora Legacy ecosystem.

The Foundation remains supportive of individual contributors continuing to provide updates to existing modules. Since there will be no further releases, it is recommended that any remaining Islandora Legacy sites switch from running the last stable release to running HEAD to take advantage of any such work.
