Islandora 7 slow initial response

Hi folks,

for a while now I have been noticing that the most populated (content-wise) site on my production server (we have a total of 5 sites on a single VM instance) takes a while for the initial load 5-7 seconds...please see attachment.

I could not find any errors in either the apache error.log file or in catalina.out.

We initially had Discovery Garden do the installation but we are no longer subscribing to their support packages (budget issues etc.).

Running Drupal 7.88 and Fedora 3.81.

Read somewhere that you can make changes to the JAVA_OPTS settings - which seem to be already in place. There was also a mention of changing djakota.properties cache settings.

Last question: The site in question has the breadcrumbs set to default but some of my sites have it set to Solr. Not sure if this is relevant or not....

Hopefully there is still somebody out there that could maybe help a bit with an older Islandora version :-)
