Community Survey for New Features

Hi Everyone,

Since the release of Islandora 8 1.1.0, we've been asking community members for what features they would like next.  Between community meetings and the first Islandora Online event, there's been a lot of eyes from around the community on the list of features we've gathered.  That list has been collectively edited and reviewed by the community, and from it we have created a survey.  We're asking that everyone please take the time to fill out this survey so that we know what features to deliver for the next release of Islandora 8.

I've written a blog post about it on islandora.ca if you want more details, but TL;DR, for each potential feature we're asking you to tell us one of the following things:

• My organization needs this feature to consider/continue using Islandora 8
  
• This feature is nice to have, but is not necessary for my organization's current needs
• My organization do not care about this feature at all
• It's not exactly clear what this feature is

We'll be using the responses to this survey to set our development priorities for community sprints, essentially democratizing Islandora 8's road map for upcoming features. Simply filling out this survey is an easy and extremely valuable contribution to Islandora.  Your input is important to us, and we want to make sure that everyone's voice is heard!

You can fill out the survey here.  We'll close the survey on August 14th, and report back to you with the results. To call this important is an understatement, so please take the time to fill this out if you can.

Hi Folks,

We've gotten a total of 63 responses to our community survey.  We got a record 76 last time, and it'd be great to meet or beat that number of responses.  I'll keep the poll open for the rest of the week to give folks one last chance to fill it out.

We've closed out the survey with a total of 80 responses, which is higher than last time and our new record to beat.  Thanks again to everyone who took the time to participate.  You're truly helping us find the most effective ways we can improve the software to better meet everyone's needs.

We'll remove any identifying information and then publish the results along with a summary soon.  Keep an eye out for it!
