Did you check the box that says, "Reinitialize MAC address of all network cards" when you imported?
Watch the console when the vm boots... if you reinitialised the MAC addresses, you will see an error go by...
There are lots of ways that you can correct this issue... The suggestion that Steve mentions will work. A simpler solution (as this is a VM) is pasting in the "correct" hardware addresses (Adapter 1 = 080027024039 - Adapter 2 = 0800275EE611) or importing the vm again and NOT checking that box reinitialize box. You can see the MAC addresses of your vm in VirtualBox under Settings -> Network, Adapter X -> Advanced.

But I still can't get it to work. I'm sure this is a simple VM config item - can you guys give this issue some focus? It would help a ton for moving forward with actually using the Islandora Drupal 7 Beta image provided.
