This Earth Day, you could go for a hike, or participate in a recycling event. OR you could do something out of the ordinary and totally awesome: film a music video about solar power with a fun group of people! We need your help, your rhymes, your costumes and props, your arms flailing in our new music video for Occupy Rooftops, a theme about crowdsourced funding for community solar energy. Read about ithere. Sign up to help here.
What: The filming of Occupy Rooftops music video
When: Saturday, April 21, 2012, 2-4pm (with tentative additional filming from 4:30-6:30pm)
Who: anyone who is not camera shy and loves solar energy
Why: because crowd-funded solar is fun and it needs a music video and this is the coolest Earth Day event youve ever attended
Where: We will start at St Vincent de Paul at 2pm, 2260 San Pablo AvenueOakland and then tentatively head next to the Asian Resources Center, 310 8th St for some more filming (both have awesome rooftop PV systems).
The new video will feature rhymes by Sustainable John and a community chorus (thats where you all get involved). Guest rhymes are welcome if you want to contribute some to the project. Were gonna be climbing up ladders, getting on rooftops (theyre flat and safe), dancing, jamming, and posing with solar panels (you know you want to). We need at least 10-15 volunteers for our video, but the more the merrier. Will you help? Please sign up in thisGoogle doc!
