I have opened up the net.* hierarchy, otherwise known as "Usenet II". Before
you post to any net.* groups please take a moment and visit this URL:

http://www.usenet2.org/

This hierarchy has some very strict rules, and breaking them could mean
we can no longer carry them (although they are fairly anemic anyway so I'm
not convinced this would be all that big a deal). In any case, please adhere
to their rules or ignore the net.* groups completely. Thanks.

I checked it out and noticed that we don't have the net.media.* groups
available to us. Are they on their way?

cheers,

That may/will/should change before too long... There are enough people
about on the net, i am sure, who prefer life without spam to the known
alternative... :-)

Tried that but, then again, I usually use Netscape to read Islandnet.

(Ahem)

I'll try it with a real newsreader.

cheers,

I subscribed to several of the new net.* groups, and see no messages
there. Are there messages flowing?

Yes, but keep in mind these are not standard groups and they are carried
by a relatively small number of sites. Only one of the sites we connect
to carries them, and that's best.com. They are very well connected
though, and we are definitely getting every net.* article they get.
