An 18 year old and a burly mid-thirties ex-football player arrive at 4.
The only tools the shaw cable guy brings is a 3/4HP Drill & 4' Bit!
The 18 year old proudly proclaims that his dad got him the job and
that he was one of the first people in Victoria on the net in 1992!
We spend an hour determining that the cable connection in the second
bedroom is inactive. I have to haul in a TV set to confirm this.
I help the cable_guy find the comm closets in the building.
They keep getting distracted from their job by our books and
the view and everything else that shines.
They tell me that in a few weeks, they are not sure when,
DHCP will kick in and my service will abruptly end. I may
get a phone call, then again, I may not.
One and a half-hours later they are gone and I am connected.
I see why we are not expected to pay for the installation.
:-)
All in good fun. They were very nice. I was worried that
I was going to have to make dinner for them!
