On the Virtue of People of Hadith

The scholars from past continued to praise the people of hadith. Imam
Ash-Shafee said: "if I see a person among the people of hadith, as if
I saw a companion of the Prophet -peace be upon him". Shafee said this
because this person resembles the companion of the Prophet in the job
of conveying the hadith. Also Ash-Shafee said: "The people of Hadith
did preserved, so they owe from us gratitude for their perseverance".
