Good afternoon,

 

As a previous applicant to the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Affairs grants programs, we are writing to let you know that the 2023-24 Multicultural Festivals and Events (MFE) Program Round Two is now open for applications. Applications close at 3pm on Friday 27 October 2023.

 

The Victorian Government recognises that multicultural communities in regional and rural areas experience disproportionate barriers when it comes to hosting events that celebrate their culture and traditions.

That’s why over $1 million is available to support events across regional Victoria, through the Regional Multicultural Festivals and Events Fund with no funding cap on applications. More information is available at: https://www.vic.gov.au/multicultural-festivals-and-events-program.

 

Funding will be available for events and activities held between 1 January and 30 June 2024 and offered in three streams:

o   Small stream - Up to $5,000

o   Medium street – Between $5,001 and $15,000

o   Large stream – Between $15,001 and above (no cap on funding request).

 

In addition to this, funding can go towards training and workshops to build the capacity of regional organisations. We want to ensure organisations can support their community, share their culture with the wider community, and deliver their significant events.

Supporting regional multicultural organisations and those that work directly with multicultural communities across regional Victoria is a key priority. We encourage you to consider applying for the program.

To support your organisation with the application process, the MFE team will be holding a regional roadshow. The following information session will take place in Ballarat:

Date: Wednesday 4 October

Location: Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre, 11 Tuppen Drive, Sebastopol

Time: 12:30 – 2:30pm

If you are unable to attend, the MFE team is also running a series of webinars online. Please register via the links below:

Salaam everyone,

I had prepared the application for the last two MFE grants. I can share the previous application details with anyone who would like to prepare the application for the latest round of funding.

The financial feasibility of the grant is now starting to become questionable as it would most likely only cover 50% of the cost of holding a function. Particularly as the function must be a ‘non-paid’ entry event.
