Dear Devotees,
Please review the attached poster that Anish and his group has produced for our temple outreach. This will be the "banner" for the temple - used in all outreach events. I really liked the concept of capturing different activities that happens at our temple. Wonderful job!

One thing that we thought earlier was not to put the "Hare krishna temple" at the top and bold. Reason being, some may think  it is something to do with religion.... but we were going to put our name at the bottom though... not going to hide it.

We appreciate your thoughts on this by tomorrow evening because we need to order this banner asap. IFEST is just around the corner.... just a week left!

Thanks very much!

Hare Krishna!

You can see a little bitter in this JPEG - the font doesn't show up properly when you open in PPT (previous one I sent).

Also, I changed the formatting a little bit because you have the leave space at the bottom as a "bleed zone" according to the template.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Your servant,
Anish

I love the concept! And especially the one page like a book mark.

The only change: I would do is “ Celebrate – with music & dance, instead of art.

I would add an email address

Great job!

My husband’s comments:

Very good design concept, using the photos:

Possible improvements:

(1)     Right now from the top down, there are many females & a child & a baby. But for balance it also needs a shot of a male devotee, either a swami like Giriraja Swami, or someone like Raghunath, Gauravani, Maha Hari, etc.

(2)     The picture of prasada is so busy; probably better to have a close-up of easily recognizable cuisine like puris & subji, fruit, etc., taken from Kurma’s cookbook or somewhere like that.

(3)     The group photo at the bottom may be too distant; better to be more close up like the other photos.

(4)     It’s hard to tell whether the pictures & captions line up from right to left, or up & down. I thought it was right to left, but then noticed the Prasad & caption go up & down.

(5)     I apologize if this is nit-picking. The design is good.

Personally, instead of the shot with the child & baby can you possibly have a family with a baby & child. The Manor in England has good pics.

Another thought: both dancers are in costume. We think one of the pictures should be devotees dancing in kirtan without costume. We think take out the estatic dance pic, leave the Bharat natyam one.

Hare Krishna,

Please accept my humble obeisances.  All glories to Srila Prabhupad.

Here are some of the pictures that can be used.

1. Ancient Philosophy - sepia toned image of our temple.
2. Food - I picked this picture up from the internet and modified it a bit.  There are two different sizes.

Please let me know if any other pictures are required.

Hari Hari.

Hari Hari,

I actually was thinking along the same with respects to the comments below.  The bookmark concept is really nice and I like the simplicity of it but the more I looked at it, the more the suggestions below came up.

Also, if we are working towards branding and whatnot, then should @34th be incorporated anywhere or wherever we're at right now?  Are we at that stage yet?

hema

Hare Krishna!

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions! I was actually thinking the same thing about the pictures. The pictures I put in this design are just "placeholders" so everyone can get an idea for the design concept and approve the text. We need to work together and select the right pictures (which will speak a thousand words).

1. I certainly agree with putting celebrate with music and dance.

2. Someone like Gauravani would be great since he is popular. At the same time, children/family pictures usually strike a chord...or pictures of youth...people are often inspired by youth involvement.

3. Actually the picture of prasada is not prasada...it's actually a close up picture of candles from our Diwali celebration haha...it's just a placeholder. I couldn't find a good prasadam picture. The one Thejas sent out could work - we need something that makes your mouth water.

4. We will definitely fix the alignment of everything make sure everything lines up once we get the all the elements together.

The hard part is finding the right pictures especially since we need very high resolution/high quality pictures that Vimal and Thejas have taken. There are a lot of pictures on the Internet but I'm trying to find good ones from their pictures otherwise copyright could be an issue, right? If we use a picture of Gauravani or Sunshine we may have to also get their permission since this is something we will use everywhere. We could actually continue to use the phrases (discover, celebrate, share, taste, experience) and the images in all our marketing material.

Thanks so much!
Your servant,
Anish
