Prabhus,

Pamho. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Raghunath originally from Shelter & a disciple of Dhanudhar Maharaja, is teaching at the TYA and I approached him about doing a program for us, to which he is very agreeable. The question is who should be his audience: devotees or the host population ( i.e. westerners) or a combination. Could you please let me know your thoughts by tomorrow afternoon?

Please check out www.raghunath.org or Ray Cappo online to learn more and help us find the best fit.

Hare Krishna!
PAMHO. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I think westerners and new audience would be more appropriate. His website gives me the impression that he would give a good presentation for a new audience. I think we could still host it at Gauranga Hall if that's the idea and I am sure he has material ready in order for us advertise well to a newer audience.

Anish

Dear Gurubhakti prabhu,

PAMHO. AGTSP.

Never having heard of Raguhanth prabhu, my vote is based on having only viewed his website, as suggested by you.

First, I have to ask, what are we trying to accomplish with his visit?  Preach and attract/expose newcomer Westerners to our philosophy?

If so, then the program should be conducted in Gauranga hall rather than the temple and I agree that his target audience should be newcomers, westerners, and yogis.  However; I personally, am always curious to hear a devotees' spiritual journey to self-realization.  So I as a devotee, I would be inclined to attending to hear his story and also learn more about the "Raw Yogi Cleanse" he teaches in Beverly Hills, as I do enjoy juicing sometimes.

Some thought should be given how those that do attend and are interested in pursuing more information about our philosophy can be pursued without our itent becoming too obvious with a 'welcome table'. And, aim at targeting new people each time and not the same yoga students that are friendly towards the Hare Krishnas but do not seem to embrace the philosophy further.

Lastly, maybe sponsor a series of "guest speakers" throught the year with a 'recurring' theme, for example, the series could be called:  Gauranga Hall Cultural Center presents the THE WELLNESS SERIES  Healing: Mind, Body, and Spirit   featuring a "xxx guest speaker" each time.

Hare Krishna,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Not sure if this suggestion is too late, but I was thinking the best way to attract new audience is by taking our event to them.Since Raghunath pr seems to have a unique blend of yoga and kirtan,we could think about a possible " kirtan/yoga meltdown night" packaged nicely and delivered at a venue like RICE university.

Hare Krishna Dear All,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I really liked mother Manasi Ganga's suggestion. I am in favor of a properly thought out strategy like a monthly invited guest series. It helps to have consistency of events, especially if we wish to cultivate people. Do we know what Raghunath wishes to do? Asana + Kirtan?

An easy and probably promising audience would be the college crowd. But we must not have just a one off event and leave people high and dry. It must fit into a bigger theme. Otherwise it just confuses people as regards our identity and what we have to offer. This is an opportunity to plan something ongoing.

My two cents.

Your servant,
Ganga Narayana dasa
