Dear friends,
Hare Krishna, Gouranga greetings!

Rathayatra Carnival Festival (www.rathayatra.co.uk) is coming back to
Scotland. The Rathayatra is more than 2000 years old making it the
oldest street festival in the world! It originates from the ancient
holy city of Jagannath Puri in India, where millions of people attend
this festivals every year. Celebrations centre on a procession of
chariot through the streets symbolising the return of Sri Krishna to
his home in Vrindavan. All throughout the festival there is constant
singing, chanting, drums, cymbals and dancing. It is a stunningly
colourful and serene experience for locals and visitors alike. It
gives great amounts of inspiration, joy, enthusiasm and mercy.

The Edinburgh Rathayatra Festival will take place on SUNDAY, 7th
August, 12.30PM-5.30PM.
Procession STARTS 12.30PM at The Meadows park at the corner of
Melville Drive & Middle Meadow walk (please find the route attached).
Procession FINISHES 2.30PM at Kings Stables Road next to Princes
Street Gardens where all the participants will be served delicious
vegetarian feast.Then there will be Harinam parade trough the Princes
Street leading to 12 York Lane where around 3.30pm the programme will
continue indoors with more Mantra Music, Kirtan, Bhajan & dance. The
festival will finish around 5.30PM.

avoid disappointment of missing procession.
