Invitation to Janmastami and Vyasa Puja Festivals FRI 10th August - SAT 11th August @ Karuna Bhavan

Hare Krishna.
I would like to warmly invite you to join us for the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmasthami and Srila Prabhupada's Vyasa Puja. This year we will get off to an exciting start with Harinama on Princes Street in Edinburgh, 12 noon on Fri 10th August.. Please come to boost the chanting and dancing for Krishna's and Srila Prabhupada's pleasure by meeting us outside the art gallery at the junction of Princes St. and The Mound.
For those of you not joining us on Harinam, Karuna Bhavan will be open throughout the day for darshan and for the opportunity of seva (an offering of service to assist the devotees in increasing Krishna's pleasure) in preparation for the ensuing festivities. Anyone wanting to take part in such seva can do so at anytime during the week leading up to the festivals. Free accommodation and prasadam comes with this opportunity. We will continue our
celebrations at Karuna Bhavan from 6pm with a programme of
bhajans, dramas, Bhagavatam recitations, Indian dance and abhishek
(bathing ceremony for the Deity). The festival will reach its height
with midnight arati when the atmosphere becomes a sweet mixture of
intimacy and excitement leaving us with a deep feeling of gratitude
to have witnessed this beautiful festival. A delicious feast of
Krishna Prasad will then be served.
We hope you will join us again at Karuna Bhavan on Saturday 11th August at 3pm when we assemble to glorify Srila Prabhupada on his Vyasa Puja Day. This programme will include literary appreciations, Guru Puja and will culminate with Gaura Arati at 7pm after which the sumptuous Maha Prasadam feast will be served to one and all.
