The Municipal systems act requires all municipalities to have an IDP
(Integrated Development Plan) in place. The IWPA (iSimangaliso Wetland
Park Authority) has apparently been appointed to run the Umkhanyakude
district municipality DMA (District Management Area) KZN 27 DMA as a
sixth local municipality that has no constituents.
The IWPA IMP (iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority Integrated
Management Plan) is an important document for us as residents of the
Elephant Coast, as this IMP (Integrated Management Plan) will guide us
in our workings with the IWPA (iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority)
and assist us in establishing our services in accordance with the
wetland park Authority's ecological requirements as stipulated in the
world heritage convention act.
The fact that this document - the iSimangaliso Wetland Park
Authority's Integrated Management Plan - is not available to the
public is very disturbing. This issue of non availability of the
mandated plans needs to be taken up at higher political level.
the ROD found here http://bit.ly/ROD-A-25-7-8-3-2-4-IWPA also mandates
the IWPA to develop and produce an IMP (Integrated Management Plan)
WE need the publics support to be able to tackle this issue with any
degree of success. Please take a look at our petitions and consider
signing them to give us some moral support.
