Hi,

I am playing with the provided quota templates but I realized that the messages are sending the uid of the users instead of their usernames

The directory quota on path /ifs/**** owned by UID:uid:*** has exceeded the soft limit. The quota limit is X, and Y is currently in use. You may be able to free some disk space by deleting unnecessary files. If your quota includes snapshot usage, your administrator may be able to free some disk space by deleting one or more snapshots. Contact your system administrator for details.

How can I make sure that the mail delivered inserts the username and not the UID?

Thanks!
Carlos.

Have you tried to use this variable in the template:
owned by <ISI_QUOTA_OWNER>

Hi Karim,

yes, in fact this is what's included in the template:

Subject: Disk quota exceeded

The <ISI_QUOTA_DOMAIN_TYPE> quota on path <ISI_QUOTA_PATH> owned by <ISI_QUOTA_OWNER> has exceeded the <ISI_QUOTA_TYPE> limit.

The quota limit is <ISI_QUOTA_THRESHOLD>, and <ISI_QUOTA_USAGE> is currently in use.  You may be able to free some disk space by deleting unnecessary files.  If your quota includes snapshot usage, your administrator may be able to free some disk space by deleting one or more snapshots.  Contact your system administrator for details.

But in my case, the <ISI_QUOTA_OWNER> writes the uid in the mail body.

Best regards,
Carlos.

Hi Karim,

thanks for the previous message. This is also known to me where I can request the users based on different zones like so:

isi auth users list --provider=ads:DOMAIN --zone=ZONE --domain=DOMAIN

However, this is working from the command line and I need it from the template :/

Any idea?

Thanks
Carlos.

Dear all,

I opened a case with DELL and we narrowed down the issue.
The active directory was configured on zone level, so isi_run -z $ZONE was required to get the real data.
This made dataIQ unhappy (non working reporting UNKNOWN for users, etc...).
The solution was to remove AD provider, add it back to system level and assign the AD provider to the zone. This way the command works globally and now dataIQ reports correct information.

Now the users are know and the quote report also reports the username, and no longer the uidNumber.

I hope this helps others with the same issue.

Best regards,
Carlos.
