Hello everybody,

we've got 3 types of nodes : S, X and NL. A few months ago, we decided to
"reserve" range for node type. Our cluster is called "atlas" :

S nodes : atlas-1 to atlas-99
X nodes : atlas-100 to atlas-199
NL nodes : atlas-200 to atlas-299

This is only for cosmetic purpose. No problem since then.

We've just received a mail from our local contact which just discovered our
naming scheme and told use that LNN must be <= 144.

I know that the current (?) limitation in an Isilon cluster is 144 nodes, but
does it prevent me to rename my node with LNN > 144 ?

lnnset (through the isi config shell) didn't warn us at the time.

Could someone confirm that information ?

Jean-Baptiste

I can confirm that limitation. Don't rename nodes above 144.

OK, thank you for your answer !

lnnset should warn the user. Another annoying thing behind the tip of the shiny
isilon iceberg...

I can't say I've heard of issues with that. But then again I haven't gone looking for it.
