Documentation for creating email alerts for quota thresh hold breaches are well done.

I cannot find ( hopefully looking in the wrong place ), where are define or the oid for snmp traps generated for threshold breaches so we can catch them in our snmpsink for ooo notification to data owners ( email distribution list in the corresponding email rule ). Anyone seen this ?

Guessing its

smartQuotaTraps OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { isilonTraps 12 }

from ISILON-TRAP-MIB

question is, does enabling SNMP enable the traps ? or what is the process as have email alerts working direct from isilon but really want to trigger snmp trap so central monitoring

system can handle contact so in work and out of work hours logic is handled.

Hi, Instead of snmp, isilon having quota notification email to pager in case quota thresh hold breaches. You might need to configure that.

Do you not just need to define an SNMP alert channel, and then an appropriate alert setup?

Cheers,

John

suspect snmp alert is going awol as its not hitting snmp sink. checking ports match. Next step network sniff

problem was network routing meant alert was not reaching snmp sink ( after network sniff ).
