We don't connect via Linux servers, but FWIW, on our Avocent ACS32
serial console servers, we use 115200/8/N/1 w/ *no* flow control.

We like the Digi Passport 32 [ports], but also connect with minicom. I don't recall the settings offhand, though.

While Isilon is *supposed* to support flow control for Serial, I know
that we have several bugs where an XOFF will be sent accidentally, so
my recommendation is generally to leave flow control off.

(If you need to have flow control on, for some reason, and need to
find out if there's a problem with your hardware & software versions,
contact Isilon Support. If they tell you that there are no such
problems, tell them you talked with me and know that there are. :))
